Paper Boats: A Haiku

Once upon a time,
Rain meant smiles, paper meant boats -
All now drenched in age.

It's been ages since my ridiculous haiku phase! Here's one for childhood memories...

  1. I love it, haikus aren't easy to write, you need to notice the syllables and I don't know what :P

    1. Only the syllables :) They should be in the order 5-7-5. You can relax the rule though, as long as the syllable count remains less than or equal to 17.

  2. great haiku! They are so hard to do. I've tried a couple and they were horrible. This was wonderful. Have a great weekend Zainab.

  4. I tried my hand at haikus last year. It was a challenge to keep the syllables to 5-7-5 but then I always love myself a good challenge.
A very true haiku you have written. And I absolutely adore the picture you've clubbed it with.

  5. You captured a bit of sadness in that little haiku, paired with that cute little photo. Sweet and sad.
